Finally, A Sensible Shoebury Resident

The council is proposing the secondary sea wall because they want to dump many thousand tons of soil on Shoebury Common and receive a six figure sum from a developer (who has no connection with Shoebury or Southend), so they can build 450 homes. The FUSS is about a 2 metre high wall. The Council would not build a 2 metre high wall on Jubilee beach - that would cause a fuss. Alternative options would be easy to find, so why not find one? It never flooded Shoebury Common in 1953, but it did suffer serious flooding & 2 deaths in Great Wakering. Why not look at the highest risk first?
